About This Tour
This spectacular 7-day expedition trek crosses the heart of Morocco’s High Atlas Mountains, linking the Ourika Valley to Imlil while climbing two iconic high-altitude areas — the Oukaimeden Plateau region and the mighty Mount Toubkal (4,167 m). Designed for strong hikers seeking remote terrain and true mountain immersion, this route traverses alpine meadows, dramatic ridgelines, traditional Amazigh villages, and some of the Atlas’ most scenic passes.
You’ll journey through the Imnane and Azzaden Valleys, trek beneath towering cliffs, and spend nights in welcoming guesthouses and mountain refuges. Along the way, cultural encounters with local families, ancient farming terraces, and shepherd camps enrich the experience, while your gradual altitude gain provides excellent acclimatization before the final ascent of Toubkal.

Tour Plan
Begin your adventure in the lush Ourika Valley, hiking through walnut and oak forests, alongside waterfalls and river crossings as you climb gently toward the hamlet of Timichi.
Overnight: Guesthouse
Ascend into alpine terrain toward Tizi n’Tacheddirt Pass (3,200 m), enjoying sweeping mountain panoramas before descending to Tacheddirt village — one of Morocco’s highest permanent settlements.

Follow trails through the Imnane Valley past stone-built villages such as Ikkiss and Amsakrou before reaching Matate for the night.

Climb steadily toward Tizi Oudite Pass before descending into the green Azzaden Valley and onward to Tizi Oussem village.

A demanding but spectacular day takes you through Azib Tamsoult beneath massive rock walls, with the option to detour to cascading waterfalls before joining the route to the Toubkal Refuge (3,207 m).

Rise early for your summit attempt of Mount Toubkal, reaching the peak around sunrise. After celebrating on the roof of North Africa, descend via the Aït Mizane Valley to Imlil.
Overnight: Guesthouse
Enjoy a relaxed morning exploring Imlil’s orchards and surrounding hamlets, or transfer back to Marrakech.
