Designed for travelers who want meaningful experiences without strenuous climbing, this journey follows ancient footpaths linking traditional Amazigh (Berber) villages, lush river valleys, and terraced farmland sculpted into steep slopes over generations.
Along the way, you’ll walk beneath walnut and fruit trees, cross crystal-clear streams, and pause frequently for photos and tea with locals. Daily life unfolds around you — women weaving rugs, farmers tending crops, children playing in the fields — offering rare insight into mountain traditions that remain largely unchanged. Tour Plan
Your adventure begins with a morning transfer from Marrakech to a traditional Berber village nestled in the foothills of the High Atlas. After meeting your local mountain guide and mule team, you’ll set off along quiet paths winding through irrigated fields, stone houses, and groves of walnut and cherry trees.
The trail follows streams and irrigation channels that sustain valley life before climbing gently to panoramic viewpoints overlooking patchwork terraces. Along the route, your guide introduces you to local customs and rural traditions, and you may be invited into homes for tea.
Lunch is served with a village family or as a scenic picnic beside a riverbank. In the afternoon, continue walking to your overnight village, where a welcoming guesthouse or homestay awaits. Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, conversation by the fire, and starlit mountain skies.
Overnight: Guesthouse or family homestay
After breakfast, follow a different trail through upper terraces and hillside paths that reveal sweeping views across the valley and surrounding peaks. Today’s walk is easier and shorter, perfect for soaking up the landscape and capturing photographs of village life and dramatic mountain backdrops.
Pass through additional hamlets, fields, and orchards before stopping for lunch in a peaceful village or viewpoint overlooking the valley floor.
In the afternoon, descend gently back toward the starting village, where your vehicle awaits for the return transfer to Marrakech — marking the end of a rewarding two-day cultural trekking experience.
End of trek.
